Hello there
I am new to this forum, great site too well done. ;) :D

My son is 13 and has Aspergers Syndrome, high levels of anxiety, and as from today he started home education, so anyone with experience of this I will be happy to receive info/advice, thank you.

The school had almost 3 years to deal with the bullying, I can go on as its a long story but nothing has ever been resolved and since learning that we can actually home educate our son and that Education is compulsory and school is not then we feel this is the best way.
Although its been on the cards for a few months now, we thought its about time we taken the plunge now or we never will.

Our son has been through years of torture at school and enough is enough, today he seemed so relaxed, which is the first time in years we have seen him like this, and was enjoying doing his work at home.

I look forward to chatting to you folks. ;) :D

Welcome to a new world.

I'm pleased to find more parents who are finally biting the bullet and HE their children because of bullying. It disgusts me that the school has failed to effectively deal with bullying for three solid years. There was far too much bullying going on at my son's schools and nobody cared less. My son was so much happier and relaxed when he started HE.

Hi
I've been home educating my 9 year old daughter who is dyslexic and has Aspergers, for 3 months. :D She was school refusing because of extreme anxiety. :x I noticed an improvement in her anxiety levels immediately: she started sleeping through the night   and her OCD was much reduced as soon as she started being home educated. :P I'm sure that you will notice a difference in your child within a week :D
I had been feeling a bit anxious myself about our visit from the LEA (Suffolk) :o but we had that last week and received the report from the LEA today- and it was a really nice report. :geek: :geek:
I think that all your LEA want is for your child to be receiving appropriate work in an appropriate environment and for many Aspergic kids the home environment is the most appropriate place for them.
Hope you're having a good day
Clare ;) ;)
