The second reading of the Children Schools and Families (CSF) bill takes place in the House of Commons on Monday 11th January.

The bill has gone through to the next stage. There were 288 ayes to 206 nos.

Here is what happens in the next stage which is the committee stage.

Graham Stuart’s speech was fabulous. He mentioned the results of the consultation on registration and monitoring and ridiculed the idea that the respondents are a "minority".

Ed Balls was accused of ignoring another consultation related to the CSF Bill and he said that a lot of the responses were part of a "campaign". I'm inclined to say this is the stock response whenever a consultation produces unfavourable results in order to invalidate them.

Vernon Coaker said "I think the vast majority of parents would welcome a local authority visit to see their children alone". What planet is this man living on?
