Hello all!

I'm the mom of a newly-diagnosed AS 9yo girl whom we've home educated for about two years (we were in Bulgaria for two years and she attended school there). It's been a bit of a rough ride getting here, but now that we have the Dx, I'm able to move forward with her with a bit more info than I had before.

We're moving to the London area in January 2012 (DH job moving us there) and would like to get as many resources as we can before we make the transfer. DH wants to live in the Richmond area for ease of commute. Does anyone know of any AS groups, social skills classes, facilitated play groups, etc., in or near Richmond? Or is there a better place for these resources on the outer edges of London? I am very interested in continuing to home educate DD, so all the support and resources you can recommend are welcome :)

TIA!!!

London does seem to be a bit under represented when it comes to local AS support groups compared with other parts of the country. I did a quick internet search to see if there are any local groups around the Richmond area but there doesn't appear to be any - unless they are hiding away quietly. My recommendation is to contact Autism London as they probably have somebody who has more knowledge about the local AS scene than I do.

If you do find any local groups then please post the details so that I can update the directory.

There definitely used to be a HE support group covering Richmond and south west London but unfortunately I don't have the contact details and the Yahoo group is totally closed to non-members now. You're not the first person who has enquired about contact details for this elusive group...
