The government is to commission a review into what a "suitable" and "efficient" education means for home educated children in England. The setting up of a review is expected to take place early in 2010.
BBC News, 9th October 2009Home education group, Education Otherwise, says that trying to define a "suitable" education will create another layer of hard-to-define benchmarks.Myself and thousands of other HE parents already know what is defined as 'suitable' in conjunction with HE. It is allowing HE parents to get on with the job of HE their children without government officials (a polite term for dictators) poking their big noses in to see if children are being taught according to their own state school imposed models, and if they are not, then threatening parents to impose the NC and school style teaching and testing or else their children will be sent to a state school of the government's choice.
